With the resurrection of the old varsity line between Oxford and Cambridge the scope of works was to manage the construction of 10km of new track which included bulk earthworks, track formation, drainage, acoustic barriers, ancillary civils, 3 new footbridges, CFA and sheet piling, 3 bridge remedials including brickwork repairs, 4 logistics compounds and a train station using precast reinforced concrete (Section 2B3/2B4 & Winslow station).

With the responsibility of the delivery of the works covering resourcing, commercial, procurement, engineering, quality & handover, H&S, logistics, planning, external stakeholder relations. Works were a combination of sub-contract packages and self-delivery.

The main constraints have been logistics, ecological and utilities which has proved to be a strategic puzzle which has made the alignment of sequencing, sub-contract award and design release; fundamental in the successful delivery of the works.
